Personalised Podiatry Care

Rebecca is an alumnus of both Monash University (Bachelor of Health Science) and La Trobe University (Bachelor of Health Sciences and Masters of Podiatric Practice). She is registered with the Podiatry Board of Australia/ Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a proud member of The Australian Podiatry Association (MApodA) which keeps her informed and up to date with the latest in podiatry and healthcare. The current Pandemic has compelled Rebecca to listen to ‘webinars’ and move her professional development to the online platform where she can hear about the latest in Podiatric research and innovative treatments to implement in her practice and improve health outcomes for her patients.

Initially Rebecca worked independently as part of an outreach team in rural New South Wales servicing remote communities, including many patients with complex medical conditions.

On her return to Victoria, she went on to practice podiatry in busy private clinics across regional and metropolitan Melbourne, before moving to the Dandenong Ranges in 2020, where she enjoys the outdoor lifestyle.

Since leaving university in 2015, Rebecca has continued to develop an interest in treating musculoskeletal issues of the lower limb in adults and children. Performing nail surgery to treat and prevent painful ingrown toenails for both children and adults is another practice she regularly enjoys assisting her patients with. Utilising her skills in diabetes assessments, management and education, primary foot care and prescription of orthoses is an important part of her work that she also finds rewarding.

Rebecca has undertaken additional study in several advanced podiatric techniques and always discusses the different options carefully with her patients. She has certifications in both prolotherapy and dry needling to help manage musculoskeletal pain and has achieved excellent results in both of these techniques.

In March 2021, Dr Rebecca Ireland acquired The Podiatry Workshop and has since been the managing director and principal podiatrist in the growing podiatry clinic.

Biomechanical Assessment

No referral needed

Thorough examination of the movement, structure and mechanics of the lower limb helps to determine the cause of your pain or discomfort. It can also reveal issues with foot and leg alignment that can then be corrected or improved with non-invasive therapy at the clinic or a referral can be made if surgical opinion needs to be considered. Footwear is also important and wear patterns and fit will also be reviewed.
